Personally, the most interesting part is your observation of the fact that they answered you before you even finished meant they were judging you, not making an assessment...hmmmm...I will think more about that when I jump to a quick conclusion.
I think the closer we are to someone, the easier it is being impatient out loud. We carry a big bag of history in, feel we know where the person is going with something, and feel comfortable not giving the kindness we'd give an acquaintance or stranger.
