the sadness of texting & driving

I live in a city and walk a lot (with my 14-pound buddy, Vinnie).

The number of drivers I see looking at a phone for an extended period of time is frightening. The text below is a transcript of the video above.

While fun to make, I hope it helps a few more of us (including me) drive safer.

The texting and driving is nuts.

I walk these streets—It pains me to see what we so continuously and dangerously do.

I say unto thee, childish ones—lift your eyes from your palms, your little glowing boxes.

You command chariots of the modern age. See what is before you. Help humankind.

Embrace the collective call to look after one another whilst moving your metal steeds over concrete paths together.

You take the life of another and you will change the day of yours.

I beseech you, by all angels—let your replies, your likes, your emoji-filled kisses simmer in patience as you care for this moment and the souls about you.

Allow yourself the time and space to love humankind.
